Statesman CAP 10K and University Medical Center at Brackenridge

Each year, the Austin American-Statesman selects a beneficiary to share in the proceeds generated by the annual Statesman Capitol 10,000. This year, the Statesman has selected University Medical Center at Brackenridge.

The proceeds will help fun the region’s only Level II Trauma Center and the Shivers Cancer Center.

UMC Brackenridge’s Regional Trauma Center is one of nine designated Level II Centers in the state of Texas, and serves as the home base for Austin/Travis County EMS STAR Flight.

The Shivers Cancer Center, also located at UMC Brackenridge, provides medical, emotional, spiritual and financial help to its patients.

The Statesman Capitol 10,000 is Texas’ largest 10K race, and the fifth largest in the country. This year’s race will be run March 30.
